How to use the Excel calendar template
Open the file and pick a month from the sheet tabs along the bottom. Click a day cell, type under the date number, and press Alt+Enter if you want a second line inside the same cell. Row heights and column widths are already set so each month lands on one page. If your printer margins differ, File › Print and "Fit sheet on one page" sorts it out.

Why a spreadsheet calendar?
A PDF is the right thing when the calendar is finished and only needs printing. A spreadsheet is better when the calendar is still a working document. In Excel you can widen a column because one week is busier than the rest, colour-code by person or project, add a formula that counts someone's shifts, sort a list of dates, or paste in an export from another system. Plenty of teams keep one workbook a year on a shared drive with everyone colouring their own rows. A PDF can't do any of that.
What you get is a real .xlsx workbook, not a renamed PDF. Twelve worksheets, one per month, the grid built from actual cells, the
dates as editable text, and United States public holidays and observances already sitting in the right days in red. Column widths, row heights and
the print area are set up in advance, so each month prints on one page at the size and orientation you chose. That's the fiddly part of preparing
a spreadsheet for printing, done already.
Compatibility
It's standard Office Open XML, so it opens in Excel 2007 and later, Excel for Mac, Excel on the web, Google Sheets (File › Import), LibreOffice Calc, OpenOffice, Apple Numbers and most mobile spreadsheet apps. There are no macros in it, so nothing trips a security warning and there's nothing to enable before it works.

- Click the cell, type the first line, press Alt+Enter (Ctrl+Option+Enter on a Mac) and type the second.
- Can I get it without holidays?
- Yes. Use the blank version linked above, or change the country selector at the top of the page before downloading.
- Does it work in Google Sheets?
- Yes. Upload it to Google Drive and open it, or use File › Import inside Sheets. Formatting and holidays are preserved.
- Why is my month printing on two pages?
